Bodega:

Javier Sanz Viticultor

Region:

Rueda
History: Javier Sanz's great-grandfather, Augustin Nanclares, made wine from the grapes he grew on his estate, Villa Narcisa, and sold it wholesale to local wineries. The company now has some 104 hectares under vine, the majority of which is of the Verdejo type.
Verdejo is considered to be one of the finest white varieties in the world, the first vines having been planted in the region in the 11th and 12th centuries during the reign of King Alfonso the VI.

Generations of dedicated viticulture, profound knowledge of the grapes and wine making skill are now coupled with modern winemaking facilities (even the oak barrels are manufactured in house) have led to new standards of quality.

The trade names Villa Narcisa & Rey Santo were registered in 1995, and the Sanz family has been selling wines under these names since.
Wines available: Rey Santo, Villa Narcisa Rueda Superior, Villa Narcisa (Fermentado en Barrica)
